BROOKS Roger W born to Martin N & Darlene Jean (FORTUNE) BROOKS [MORELAND]. Lived at 2201 N 4th (1946, 1953). Brother of Martin, Donna & Darlene "Sally" (both '54) BROOKS. Parents buried in Riverview cemetery.
Roger moved to Alaska from Idaho in 1981 and flew DC-3s for Frontier Flying Service until he started his own business in 1984, forming Brooks Fuel Inc in 1986, and dissolved it in 2011. Roger and his sons specialized in flying fuel to various points in the "Alaska bush"--remote villages, construction camps, and government project sites. He lives in Fairbanks, and restores vintage aircraft as a hobby.

McMURRAY Frederick Charles born 1945 to Roy C and Patricia J (KEALY) McMURRAY. Brother of Kathleen '65 and Sally '68 McMURRAY. (Roy was IHM's Athletic Director in the 1960's.) Fred earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1959 in Troop 2 (alongside Bill GREEN and Phil ERICKSON). He married 1965 to Judy REISWIG. Fred was a Captain (USAF) and a POW in North Vietnam for six months following a plane crash. He was eventually returned to American military control in March 1973. Fred retired from the Air Force as a Lt Colonel in 1988. His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star with V for Valor, Purple Heart and the POW Medal.
