born 21 Apr 1922 in Isabel SD to Glen & Mary (DOUDA) BARNARD. Glen later married Mayme (CORNISH) [McCORMICK], mother of Margaret'45 McCORMICK.
Mary DOUDA was born Sep 1898 in Delaware Co IA to Joseph & Blanche DOUDA, both from Bohemia. She married 26 Feb 1919 in Dewey SD to Glen. She died 8 Mar 1923 in Custer Co SD. Her parents are buried in St Albert cemetery, Dundee IA.
Mary Agnes married on 26 Jun 1943 at Spokane to Alex Clement NEIGHBORS Jr, of Farragut, with Robert'44 O'ROURKE & (stepsister) Margaret'45 McCORMICK as witnesses.
Mary A died 21 Apr 1994 in Everett WA. Alex died 1991. Both buried in Cypress Lawn, Everett.

BARNES Genevieve May

born 5 July 1923 to Philip A & Neoma (STEPHENS) BARNES. Sister of Delores'44, Harold'40, Myrtle('40), and Yvonne('53). Baptized 15 Jul 1923 St Thomas. Married Ralph Roscoe HUGHES (1922-2004). Genny died 6 Sep 2009. See more family information.
Obituary (Ralph): Funeral for Ralph R HUGHES, 81, will be Wed 31 Mar 2004 at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. He died Sunday. Born in Stites ID, he grew up in Coeur d'Alene and attended Cd'A HS. He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in England and Normandy, France, driving truck in the Red Ball Express. He later worked at Hudson's Auto Body, and owned and operated Hillyard Auto Body until 1974. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, golfing and horseshoes and was a member of the Good Sam Club. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Genevieve; two children, Diane SLETMOEN and Robert HUGHES, both of Spokane; a brother, Walter HUGHES; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BOLTZ Eileen Marie Did not graduate IHM (instead, CHS), but attended IHM 1930-1938 (8th grade+). Sister of Shirley '49 (BOLTZ) JOST. Mother of Clarice '70 ROBERTSON. Aunt to the JOST alumni. Born 28 Nov 1924 at Cd'A to Clarence A & Ilo (KOLLING) BOLTZ. married Oral Arthur "Red" ROBERTSON. Her brothers also attended IHM but did not graduate: Duane ('41)(9 yrs), Bill ('50)(2 yrs), & Eugene ('46)BOLTZ (10 yrs). Also, in 1961-63, Linda Jean BOLTZ '73 spent first and second grade at St Thomas. Linda is a daughter of Eugene BOLTZ, who died in 1962. Linda's brother, Paul Eugene BOLTZ, attended St Thomas grades 1-4 in 1959-63, until the family moved (to Spokane?). St Thomas:

Born 22 Mar 1924, died 2008. Received PhD in Education at U MT (Missoula) in 1962, became Supt of Schools in Madras, Oregon; in 1963 at Brookings, and later at Coos Bay, Oregon. Married Shirlee ELLERN. See obituary and more family information.

DuMONT Barbara

Born 15 Aug 1925 in Spokane to Pierre Marie Paul & Cornelia Mildred (TRIMBORN) DuMONT. She entered the Academy in 1939. (If you wonder, her hair was brown, and she was already 6'2" at age 14, see border crossing card.) After graduation, she entered the IHM Congregation on 2 Feb 1944, and made her temporary profession of vows on 2 Aug 1946, with final profession of vows on 2 Aug 1949. She taught in Portland OR and Williamsport PA before teaching at IHM in 1955 - 1964. She held BA and MS degrees from Marywood, and an MS degree in Mathematics/biology from the University of Idaho. She died 21 Nov 2015 at Scranton PA. She is buried in Osoyoos, with her parents and other relatives.

ELLER Earl

Born 22 Jul 1923 in Cd'A and adopted at birth by Ernest W & Margaret (HANCOCK) ELLER. Brother of Montana M '28 and Lyle '33 ELLER. See historical family information.
Earl enlisted in the Army with brother Ernest on 21 Jan 1943 in Spokane, and served in the Aleutian Islands. Married his high school sweetheart, Margaret '43 DELMAR. They had six children (Thomas, Patrick, Gerald "Mike" (1949-2005), Kris, Robert (1953-1979) & Mark), and lived in Burien WA. Earl was a supervisor at Boeing, and later a vice president at Rohr Aircraft. He died in a family boating accident on Lake Retreat in July 1962.

JURDY Elaine Josephine

born 27 March 1924 near Spirit Lake ID, to Elias Joseph and Rose (ROGERS) JURDY. Married 3 Jul 1944 at Spokane to John LeeRoy JOSSERAND (See certificate). John served in the Navy SEALS. They moved to California by 1954, and lived at 1624 Parade St, Long Becach CA. --Voter registration, 1954-1962; (Elaine as Democrat, John as Republican).. They had a daughter, Shirley (b1945), m. ----WYNN. g.child: Vivian (WYNNE) BROWN. gg.child: Brielle BROWN
Elaine died 7 Jan 2007 at Long Beach. Her husband, John JOSSERAND, was born 13 Mar 1923 in Kansas, and died 16 Dec 1989 in Long Beach. Both are buried in Greenhills Memorial Park, Palos Verdes.

Elaine's father Eli was born 10 Aug 1891 in Syria, married in 1918 to Rose ROGERS at Spirit Lake, and died at Spokane in Oct 1962. On 5 Jun 1917, he registered for the WW1 draft, and requested exemption to care for his mother. He worked at Panhandle Lumber in Spirit Lake, with his brother, George Joseph, born 20 Dec 1898 in Syria. Their mother, Salime JURDY, born 1864, died March 1940, and is buried in Fairmount cemetery, Spokane. The JURDY family immigrated in 1912 & 1913 from Syria (present-day Beirut & Dayr-al-Qamar. Lebanon).

Elaine's mother, (Sultana) Rose, was born 2 Nov 1896 in Montana to Salem and Mary Annie (FARRIS) ROGERS, who married in 1878 in Syria. They emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1892, later to Montana, followed by several FARISS relatives and other Lebanese families. MACKIN Mary Margaret

Born 18 Feb 1924 at Spokane to Joseph Edward and Margaret M MACKIN. Sister of twins Harold & Helen MACKIN (b 1928), and Loretta Marie (b 1926), along with brothers Lawrence (b 1921) and Francis (b 1922). Joseph E was a plumber. The family lived in Alliance, Alberta (1921-22), Spokane (1924-1935) and Dalton Gardens (1940). See 1933 Citizenship papers.
Mary M married on 6 June 1942 at Bremerton WA to Frank Funston KNOX (a twin of Phillip Pershing KNOX, b 23 Jan 1918 in Delores, Colorado). Mary M died 4 April 1994; Frank died 18 July 1994, both in Bremerton WA.

PETERS Jean

born c1924 to Edward Charles and Katherine Agnes PETERS. Apparently attended Post Falls schools most of her life, and claims graduation from PFHS (see obituary). Married 1942 to Herman "Dutch" WILHELM. Mother of James '61 WILHELM.
In 1910, Edward's parents lived in Spokane, with Ed's brothers, Harry 22 and Frank 17. --15 Apr 1910 Spokane, Ward 1, ED148, p22A. Edward was single, working as a street work laborer, boarding on Front Ave, Spokane.
In 1920, Edward and Katherine lived in Hauser, next to his parents: Gustav PETERS, 63 WI (parents b GER), farmer; and Mary, 60 KY (parents b Alsace-Lorraine). The family comprised: Edward C PETERS, 35 MN. Road worker; Katherine, 30 WA (parents b Ireland, Canada); Francis E, son, 7 WA; Mary M, dau, 2 WA; Lawrence, 1 WA. (Lawrence Charles was b 11 Dec 1918, Spokane.) —8 Jan 1920 Hauser, Kootenai Co ID, ED193 p1A. Edward registered for the draft in 1918, listing himself as a Checker for the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul RR, out of Spokane. He and Katherine A lived at Rte 1, Post Falls.
On 17 Nov 1925, Edward C PETERS died in Kootenai County. He was born 18 May 1884 in Minnesota. His mother, Mary, born 12 Jan 1859, died 25 Mar 1942 in Post Falls.
In 1930, the family lived in Post Falls and comprised: Katherine, 37 WA, widow, office assistant at Electric Washer Co, renting on 7th St for $18/mo; Francis E, 17 WA; Mary M, 13 ID; Lawrence C, 11 WA; Betty E, 9 ID; Jean'42, dau, 5 ID; Edward, so, 3y6mo ID. —7 Apr 1930 Post Falls, ED46 p5A [172]. Edward's mother, Mary, was now a widow, and had a son (Henry J) with his family (wife Lauretta and 5 children) living with her. —2 Apr 1930 Hauser precinct, ED32 p1A [129].
Jean died 31 May 2014 at Post Falls. Dutch died 1 June 2006.

In the school census of Sep 1938, Mrs Mary RASH, at 9th/Locust, with children Albert 20, Walter 18, MARY 15, Rudolph 11.


STANGLE Rita Clare

Born 1 Jan 1924 at Sandpoint ID, to Joseph Charles & Agnes M (LYNCH) STANGLE. Lived in Lewiston 1930, Sandpoint 1935, then in Cd'A 1940. Sister of Joseph '39 STANGLE. Married Arthur W REKER Sr, born 17 Mar 1926 Campbell KY, died 5 Feb 1990 Fresno CA. They lived in Spokane (1949-1952) Modesto CA (1953-1957), Porterville CA (1958-?) and Fresno (1990's). Rita died 21 Mar 1996 in Fresno CA.


STILLINGER Wendell Warren

Born 21 Sep 1924 to Walter Wilton & Catherine M (SAYER) STILLINGER. Lived 1222 N 10th (1938), 1220 N 10th (1941), 1001 Walnut (1946). Uncle of Penny '74 KACZOR. Brother of Phyllis '40, Larry '44, Ramona (non-grad), Joan '50, Mary '54, and James '58 STILLINGER. Wendell married Sylvia M SCHLIESMAN on 10 Jun 1950 at St James church, Vancouver, Washington .
Wendell was a Corporal in the US Army during WW2, serving as a paratrooper in the Pacific. In 1952, he was a bodyman at Kramer Pontiac in Cd'A, and lived at 825 W Garden. He died 29 Nov 2010 at King City, Oregon. Sylvia, born 11 Mar 1925, died 30 Aug 2000. They are both buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. Five children. THIBODEAU (Mabel) Elizabeth

Born 23 Jun 1923 in Idaho. Parents probably William Alexander & Ethelyn Rutherford (SMITH) THIBODEAU, who married in Cd'A on 14 June 1922. William, born 19 Sep 1888 in Beldone NB CAN, is a brother of Annie COLE (lived with mother and COLE family in 1920 Cd'A). William died 2 Oct 1958 in Deer Park WA, buried in Forest cemetery. Ethelyn, born 7 July 1906 ID, moved to San Diego, and lived with her mother, Mabel (BANKSON) BURTON, in 1930. She died 12 Apr 1982 in San Mateo CA, as Ethelyn MARSH.
Mabel Elizabeth lived with her aunt & uncle, Elgin & Annie (THIBODEAU) COLE in Rathdrum, (1930-38). Elgin soon died, and Mabel lived with aunt Annie, who remarried to Clyde STRAHORN (Hayden, 1940 census). Annie was born to James J & Jane E (KEARNEY) THIBODEAU. Several of them are buried in St Thomas.
Mabel E married [#1] --- CLAYTON, then [#2] on 22 Apr 1960 in Monterey CA to Solon Albert SYVERSEN. Lived in Redwood City CA in 1960's. Lived in Newberg, Tualatin and Tillamook Oregon in 1990's. Lives in Lee's Camp OR (near Tillamook) (2017) Mabel died 23 Jun 2018.
