Sylvester KOSS was the son of Jakole & Anna KOSS, who emigrated from Germany (Austria/Slovenia) in 1903. Jack was a coal miner in Black Diamond WA, where Smokey was born. Monica KNUTSON was the daughter of John and Harriet (BACKES) KNUTSON. Myron and Magdeline KNUTSON witnessed the KOSS wedding.

All six are buried in St Thomas cemetery (VEDDER), or MARTELL.
