(Non-Grad, '27) Elmer Aloysius MULLER

Born 13 Nov 1907, Chicago, to Joseph A and Josephine (MEYER) MULLER. A truck driver at age 27, Elmer married on 27 Oct 1934 at Newport WA to Magdaline A SCHWARZEL, age 23. Elmer died 20 May 1964. Magdaline, born 24 Apr 1910 in Chicago to Henry Richard SCHWARZEL Jr and Magdalene MEYER (MAYER?), died 29 Sept 1973. Elmer and Magdaline are buried in St Thomas cemetery, with his parents.

Born 15 Sep 1910 in Idaho to Joseph A and Josephine (MEYER) MULLER. Married (and divorced) Henry THOMPSON. 4 children. Died 29 Sep 1997 near Seattle. Buried at Holyrood cemetery, Seattle.

1933 Magdalene "Billie" MULLER

Born 26 March 1913 to Joseph A and Josephine (MEYER) MULLER. Married Irwin M KELLY. 2 children. Died 26 Feb 1987, at Renton WA.

1937 Rita "Tubby" MULLER

Born 11 Jun 1918 near Cd'A to Joseph A and Josephine (MEYER) MULLER. Married Fred G HOLZER in 1940. 3 children. Died c 1 July 2008 at Cd'A.

(non-Grad '41) Nicholas MULLER

Born 10 Oct 1921 in WA to Joseph and Rachel (HEMKER) MULLER. Enrolled Sept 1930 in third grade, left at end of 6th grade (1934? '35?), and again at end of 7th grade (May 1936). School records are unclear. Served in US Army 1939-1945. Died 24 Sept 1999, buried at Ft Rosecrans Nat'l, San Diego.

MULLER line

Joseph A MULLER, born 23 Aug 1862 in Switzerland, immigrated 1881/3, naturalized 1891, married c1907, died 29 July 1937 at Cd'A and is buried with his wife in St Thomas Cemetery. In the 1930 census, he was a cemetery caretaker.

Josephine MEYER, born 26 Feb 1883 in Alsace-Lorraine, immigrated c1883/90, naturalized in 1899, died 14 Feb 1940 at Cd'A. See Josephine's family line at WorldConnect.

In 1900, Joseph MUELLER, 36, painter, and 4 of 7 siblings live with their widowed mother Magdalena [b Switzerland?]. All immigrated in 1883. --5 Jun 1900 Highland (city), Helvetia (twp), Madison county IL ED54 p3A. .

In 1910, Joseph, 48 and Josephine, 30, married 3 years, lived in French Gulch with son, Elmer, 2 IL. Next door is Joe's brother, Frank 46, with his wife Jennie and son Clarence F. --9 May 1910 Kootenai county ID, ED166 p11A [83] .

In 1930, the MULLER family lived at 2101 21st St, Cd'A, and comprised Joseph A, Josephine, and children Elmer (c1908 IL, lumber mill laborer), Marie (c1912 ID), Magdelene (1913 ID), Rita'37 (b Jun 1918 ID), and cousin Clarence, 22 IL. --2 Apr 1930 Cd'A ED12 p1A [38].

KELLY line

Irwin KELLY, who married Magdalene MULLER '33, is the son of John KELLY, and grandson of Anthony KELLY.

In 1850, Anthony, 40, and Nabby, 28, KELLY, both born Ireland, farmed in Marcellus NY, with children Bridget 6 IRL, Michael 4 IRL, and Anthony 1 NY. From this, it appears they emigrated from Ireland between July 1846 and Oct 1849. --18 Oct 1850 Onondaga Co NY.

In 1860, Anthony, 48, and Nappy, 40, both born Ireland, farmed in Osceola, Wisconsin, with children Bridget, 15 IRL; Michael, 13 IRL; Anthony, 11 NY; Jenny, 9 NY; Thomas, 7 Lk St Claire; Celia, 5 WI; Hannah, 3 WI; and Winnie, 1 WI. --10 July 1860 Fond du Lac Co WI.

In 1870, Anthony, 58, and Abby, 50, KELLY, both born Ireland, farmed in Osceola, with their son, John 2, and 7 older children, all born in Wisconsin: Celia 16, Thomas 14, Hannah 13, Winthrop (f) 11, Mary 9, William 7, and Eliza 5. --6 June 1870, Armstrong's Corners PO, Fond du Lac WI.

In 1880, John KELLY, 13, lived with his parents and 6 older siblings in Osceola WI.

In 1900John KELLY, 31 WI, born July 1868, was a day laborer in Sherman county, Wyoming.

In 1910, Irwin KELLY, 4 months, born in Kansas, lived in Shoshone county, Idaho, with his parents John 41 WI WI WI, quartz miner, and Lillian, 40 MO KY KY, and brother John Ryland, 5 ID. --18 Apr 1910; .

On 5 March 1918, John KELLY, born 30 Apr 1869, died near Rathdrum.

In 1920, Irwin KELLY, 10 KS WI MO, lived with his widowed mom Lillian 37, and bro John 15 ID, next to Al '22 KEILBACH on a Hayden area farm. --2 Feb 1920.

In 1930, Irwin M, 20 worked odd jobs and lived with his (re-married) mother, Lillian McBRIDE, on a truck farm in Hayden. --2 Apr 1930.

HOLZER line

In 1920, Fred G HOLZER, age 4, lived with his parents and siblings in St Ignatius MT. The family comprised: Fred 29 MN (parents b Austria), farmer; Ellen, 38 Sweden, naturalized; Joseph 7 MT; Lillian 5 MT; Fred 4 MT; William, 2-1/2 MT. --20 Jan 1920, Missoula Co MT.

In 1930, The HOLZER family lived in Hayden Lake, where Fred (Sr) was a laborer for the irrigation district. --7 Apr 1930, Kootenai Co ID.

Rita "Tubby" (MULLER '37) HOLZER, 1918 ~ 2008

Rita "Tubby" (MULLER '37) HOLZER, 90, died about 30 June 2008 (no mention of date in obits). She was born 11 June 1918 to Joseph A and Josephine (MEYER) MULLER at the family homestead in French Gulch. When she was 3 years old, the family moved to 21st and Front, where her father built a home, and where the family was raised. They had no car, so she walked great distances to school and work. Every Saturday the family walked to town and picked up their groceries for the week. She attended St Thomas Elementary school and graduated IHM Academy in 1937.

She married Fred G HOLZER on 9 Nov 1940 in St Thomas church. He taught her how to drive and she was off to see the country side. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma. The Holzer home on Eighth Street had an open door policy and was always full of kids. She loved to shop, travel, dance and serve pancakes, Tubby worked as a waitress for more than 30 years at the Elks Club, Fowlers, Perkins Cafe and Steak, Dave's Family Restaurant, and Down the Street.

Tubby was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 2005; brother Elmer MULLER, and sisters Marie THOMPSON and Magdeline '33 "Billie" KELLY. She is survived by sons Richard "Skin" '61 (Kathy) HOLZER; and Thomas "Bates" '61 (Sandy) HOLZER; daughter Jo Ellen '63 (John J) NELSON; granddaughters Michele (HOLZER) SCHNEIDER, Melissa HOLZER, Kim (HOLZER) NOYES; grandson Mike HOLZER; and great-granddaughter Ava Kathleen SCHNEIDER.

Tubby and Fred developed a love affair with Lake Coeur d'Alene and the city by the lake. She resided in Cd'A her entire life, and was a devout Catholic. She was baptized, confirmed, married and buried from St Thomas Catholic church. Memorials to Holy Family Catholic School,or the Tubbs Hill Foundation.

Fred G HOLZER, 1915 ~ 2005

Fred, 89, died 10 Jan 2005 at Coeur d'Alene. He was born 11 Sep 1915 in Saint Ignatius MT to Fred V & Elin (ANDERSON) HOLZER, and moved to Idaho in 1930. He graduated from Cd'A High School in 1933 and Kelsey Baird Business College in 1935. He married Rita "Tubby" MULLER (IHM'37) at St Thomas Catholic Church on 9 Nov 1940.
Fred served in the Cd'A Police Department from 1944 until 1970. Upon "retirement", he started the security department at North Idaho Junior College, and was part of the athletic department for the next 25 years. He also served on the City Parks & Recreation Board 1978-1994.
He coached football and baseball from 1958 until 1961 at IHM Academy. Fred's football teams from 1953 to 1957 had a record of 33 and 1.
Fred is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita "Tubby"; sister Lillian BOUGHTON, Cd'A; children Dick '61 (Kathy) HOLZER, Seattle; Tom '61 (Sandy) HOLZER, Adams MA; daughter Jo Ellen '63 (John) NELSON, Federal Way WA; grandchildren Michele, Melissa, Kimberly and Mike HOLZER; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial in St Thomas cemetery. Memorials to Holy Family Catholic School or Tubbs Hill Foundation, Cd'A.

MULLER Sr. -- Nicholas Norbert, died Sept. 24, 1999. Born Oct. 13, 1921 Pe Ell, WA to Joseph and Rachel MULLER. Resident of Creswell, OR since 1982. Burial on Fri. Oct. 1st at 12:30 p.m. Fort Rosecrans . He married Lillian KUNC in Tulsa OK on June 1, 1945. Was a resident of La Mesa CA until 1982, served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, was a general manager for Pepper Oil Co in San Diego, was the owner of Harbor Building Maintenance, San Diego, he was a sports car enthusiast, loved wood working and story telling. A member of Elks Lodge. Preceded in death by wife Lillian Nov 12, 1992, son John Oct 18, 1963. Survived by son Nicholas Muller Jr, San Diego CA, daughters Marilyn Muller-Stubblefield, Anchorage AK and Barbara Hanson, Creswell OR, brothers Leo, Eugene OR, Jim, Fruitland ID, Francis, Eugene OR and Joe Mueller, Creswell OR, sisters Eleanor Sims and Lucille Morohorst, both of Fruitland, ID and Viola Loomis, Eugene OR and 7 grandchildren.
