MacMILLAN Sheldon Joseph "Bid"

born 15 Jan 1893 in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada to Alex J (b Jan 1860 CAN) & Mary (CAMERON) McMILLAN, of Canada.
In 1900, Alex was a miner, in Puyallup WA. There is a deceased child, probably born in 1895 CAN. In 1910, Alex was a forest reserve cruiser; In 1920 Alex was a farmer); SJ "Bid" and parents immigrated to US 1894.
Siblings Justin J'15 and Bessie'18 (Mary E, b CAN, immig 1900), George A (b 1901 WA), Neil J'23 & Robert J'28 (b ID), all except George graduated IHM. —1910 census, Cd'A, ED166, p2A/B, 509 Garden St.
In 1920, Bid was a clerk at the Cd'A post office, where he eventually became postmaster. --1920 census, Cd'A, ED207, p1A, 509 Garden.
Sheldon registered c1917 for the draft in WWI in Kootenai county. He married 24 Dec 1927 at Spokane to Katherine McINTYRE '23.
In 1930, Katherine and Sheldon were living with her parents, at 1306 7th St, Cd'A. Sheldon served in the War, and immig from Canada in 1890 (? q.v.). His draft registration card for WW1, in June 1917, appears to ignore his "alien" status, claims "natural born" and says "was born in Canada while mother was on a visit there"--despite her status as Canadian-born, and no indication of naturalization for any of the family.
Father of Jane '48 (born 11 Apr 1930, began first grade in 1936), & Cameron John "Pete" '49 MacMILLAN, born 29 Aug 1932,who began first grade in 1938, and skipped third grade to finish eighth in 1945. A niece, Joan McMILLEN, born 1 Sep 1930 to George McMILLEN, also attended IHM in grades 1-5, (1936-1941) with Jane'48. Also a nephew, George MacMILLAN, son of George, attended in 1935-36.
Alexander J died 29 Aug 1932, age 62; his wife, Mary CAMERON, died 2 Dec 1923, age 55. Sheldon died 24 Aug 1970; his wife Katherine '23 died c18 Sep 1962. His brother Neil '23 died Sep 1965. All are buried in St Thomas cemetery.

McCARTHY Charles Dionysius "Charley"

Charley was born 7 May 1892 at Mt Pleasant MI, to Charles C (b Jul 1860 Canada, lumberman) and Elenore (FEENY) (Jul 1861 MI) McCARTHY. siblings Elenore K (Apr 1893), John Fabian (21 Apr 1895), Eloise M (Mar 1897), Justin Stanislaus (30 Dec 1898 Cd'A). --1900 census Cd'A, ED 60, p 1B, family 14.
A brother, Edmund James, was born 7 Mar 1901, died 18 Jan 1977 in Stocton CA; A sister, Corrine, was born 14 Nov 1904.
In 1920, the family lived in Spokane. In 1930, they lived in Longview WA. Justin was a medical doctor from 1928 until he died 27 Dec 1951 in Longview.
Charley was a teacher at Gonzaga (in 1917). He enlisted and served overseas in WW1 in 1917-1918. He died 30 Dec 1944 in Longview WA, and is buried in St Francis Mission cemetery, Toledo WA.
Elenore (FEENY), daughter of Edward FEENY, died 13 May 1941 at Longview.

Sr M Aloysia, IHM — profession 6 Jul 1915, died 12 Jan 1978, bur St Catherine Cemetery, Moscow PA. Father is Joel SCHERMANSON, b Feb 1861 Sweden, immig 1883, naturalized citizen, druggist. Wife Henrietta (KULLBERG), b Mar 1861 Austria, immig 1882. Married 3 Jun 1889 in Washington DC. 6 children: Erick b Mar 1890 DC; Sigrid b Aug 1891 DC; Ester'12 b Oct 1893 DC; Elsa (Sr Clement, IHM) b Apr 1895 ID; Henry b Apr 1897 ID; Agnes b Oct 1898 ID. —1900 census, Cd'A.
In 1910, the family lived at 804 7th St, next door to the MOGG family. Agnes died before 1910, and daughter Maria Louise was born c1904. —1910 Cd'A, ED170 p2B
