OBITUARIES

Donald W JACOBS, 1954 ~ 2007

Donald W JACOBS, age 53, died at Kootenai Medical Center on Saturday, 15 Dec 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born 13 July 1954, in Cd'A to Harold and Cecelia JACOBS. He graduated from CHS in 1972. Don served a combined 20 years in the Air Force and US Army, retiring in 2000 with the rank of sergeant first-class. He served in the Post Falls Volunteer Fire Fighters corps between 1996 and 2003. Upon his military retirement, he went on to complete his computer technician certification. Don was an avid lover of nature and all things technical. He was also highly skilled in many trades. From carpentry to electrical to mechanical, he was definitely our jack of all trades. He could always be found until the wee hours of the morning working in the garage on one of his many home improvement projects.

On 14 Feb 1998, he married Leah (Suzee) J WEST in Post Falls. She survives, along with his son Jeff (Sonia); his daughter Cherilyn (Peter) RHOADS; son Robert (Mary) WEST; daughter Jeanette (Robert) YOUNG; his mother, Cecelia ('51 GRIBNAU) JACOBS; brothers, Robert and Larry JACOBS; six sisters: Delores JOHNSON, Linda ELY, Don's twin Gayle FOOTE, Mary YEAGER, Linda HART and Carol McCLANATHAN; five grandchildren: Brittney, Nick, Katelyn, Emily and Jacinda; two great-grandsons, Tucker and Skylar; and he'll be very missed by his two dogs, Cinderella and Misstiki. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, in 1982.

Funeral services 19 Dec 2007 at Yates Funeral Home, Cd'A Chapel. Burial in Evergreen cemetery, Post Falls.

Harold D JACOBS, 1907/8 ~ 1982

Harold D JACOBS, born 9 Aug 1907 (or 1908) in Bonner county ID to William D and Edna Pearl (WERTEMBERGER) JACOBS, married Cecelia '51 GRIBNAU. Harold served in the US Navy. He died 7 Mar 1982, and is buried in St Thomas cemetery, Cd'A. SSDI: 518-03-3971.

Amy (JACOBS) SECORD, 1981 - 2016

On Nov. 18, 2016, at age 35, Amy passed away of respiratory failure at the Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Amy was born on April 8, 1981, in Coeur d’Alene to parents Larry and Mary (SMITH) JACOBS. She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1999 and from North Idaho College in May 2005 with a technical degree for office assistant. Amy was a loving mother to four children: Garrett SECORD, 12, Dylan SECORD, 11, Mallory SECORD, 6, and Wyatt SECORD, 3. Amy is survived by her parents; her sister, Shannon JACOBS and her four children. She is also survived by her Uncle and Aunt Dick and Martha SCHATZKA, Uncle Steven SMITH, Uncle Bob JACOBS, Aunt Dolores JOHNSON, Uncle and Aunt Bob and Linda ELY, Uncle and Aunt Jim and Gayle FOOTE, and Uncle and Aunt Don and Mary YAGER. She is also survived by numerous cousins. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Mary SMITH, and Harold and Cecelia JACOBS; Uncle Don JACOBS; Aunt Donna SMITH; and cousins Patrick JACOBS and Wil IVERSON. Special thanks to family and friends, Dr. Hollie Mills and staff at Kootenai Health Family Medicine, the staff at Hospice House and Life Care Center of Coeur d’Alene. Her celebration of life is scheduled for 11 am Tuesday, Nov 29, 2016, at the Coeur d’Alene Eagles.
