On 15 May 1897, John HARRINGTON, 24, laborer, arrived at Ellis Island NY on the ship Campania from Queenstown [now Cobh, Cork, Ireland], headed for Butte MT. He was in the #1 forward compartment. The next line of the manifest lists Maggie HARRINGTON, 25, servant, also going to Butte MT, but traveling in compartment #6 aft. Ellis Island records.
The closest likely match I could find to such a "John HARRINGTON", in the 1881 British census, is a family in Gelligaer, Glamorgan, Wales UK, with a John, age 9, born in Ireland on 2 Sep 1872. See census transcript. No mention there of a "Maggie", a year or so older. However, John boarded ship in 1897 at Queenstown, Ireland.
