Earl enlisted in the Army with brother Ernest on 21 Jan 1943 in Spokane, and served in the Aleutian Islands. Married his high school sweetheart, Margaret '43 DELMAR. They had six children (Thomas, Patrick, Gerald "Mike" (1949-2005), Kris, Robert (1953-1979) & Mark), and lived in Burien WA. Earl was a supervisor at Boeing, and later a vice president at Rohr Aircraft. He died in a family boating accident on Lake Retreat in July 1962. Margaret DELMAR, b 2 Aug 1925, died 9 Dec 2004. They moved to California by 1954, and lived at 1624 Parade St, Long Beach CA. --Voter registration, 1954-1962; (Elaine as Democrat, John as Republican).. I found no evidence of children. Elaine died 7 Jan 2007 at Long Beach. Her husband, John JOSSERAND, was born 13 Mar 1923 in Kansas, and died 16 Dec 1989 in Long Beach. He is buried in Greenhills Memorial Park, Palos Verdes.
Elaine's father Eli was born 10 Aug 1891 in Syria, married in 1918 to Rose ROGERS at Spirit Lake, and died at Spokane in Oct 1962. On 5 Jun 1917, he registered for the WW1 draft, and requested exemption to care for his mother. He worked at Panhandle Lumber in Spirit Lake, with his brother, George Joseph, born 20 Dec 1898 in Syria. Their mother, Salime JURDY, born 1864, died March 1940, and is buried in Greenwood cemetery, Spirit Lake. The JURDY family immigrated in 1912 & 1913 from Syria (present-day Beirut & Dayr-al-Qamar. Lebanon). Elaine's mother, (Sultana) Rose, was born 2 Nov 1896 in Montana to Salem and Mary Annie (FARRIS) ROGERS, who married in 1878 in Syria. They emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1892, later to Montana, followed by several FARISS relatives and other Lebanese families. Between 1919 and 1931, Frank, Elbert and Helen each received two patents (on 640 acres), making a mostly-contiguous ranch of nearly 2000 acres in Garfield county MT. Earlier, in 1920, Frank, 59 KY widow, and son "Albert" 26 OK single, were farming in SD19.
