Obituary: --San Francisco Chronicle, Friday, 27 Feb 1998 Services will be conducted tomorrow for R. Graham HALEY, a Peninsula entrepreneur who died of natural causes at his Palo Alto home on February 23 at the age of 90.
A 54-year resident of Palo Alto, Mr HALEY was president of his own company, Pacific Builders, a residential real estate development firm in Palo Alto.
Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Mr HALEY graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington DC.
Before World War II, he served in his home state as a US marshal and was later elected a state senator. During the war, he served as a lieutenant commander in the US Navy. He settled in Palo Alto after the war.
He went to work for American President Lines in San Francisco, retiring as a vice president of APL in 1960 to form his own development company in Palo Alto.
Mr HALEY is survived by his wife, Margurite (BRIC) HALEY of Palo Alto; his five children, G Bric HALEY of Squaw Valley, Tess HALEY-WACHS of Beverly Hills, Pamela C HALEY of Orinda, Jane ABELHOUZEN of Pasadena and John HALEY of Stockton; and eight grandchildren.

This practice was based in Washington and later at their home in Bowie.
She was born in Stockton CA, attended the University of Idaho and graduated from the University of Oregon. She received a master's degree in speech from Louisiana State University and a law degree from George Washington University law school. She was a public school teacher in Oregon and later lived in Pittsfield MA, before relocating to Washington when her husband was called to active Navy duty in 1941. During World War II, she taught speech and English at American University, operated a children's theater school in Cleveland Park and coached drama at the Foxcroft School in Middleburg. After the war, she accompanied her husband to Navy assignments in London, Naples and Honolulu, where she served as executive secretary of the Hawaii Bar Association.
Returning to Washington in 1968, she began a volunteer career as legal representative of abused and neglected children in the D.C. courts. For this work, she received certificates of appreciation from the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Friends of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She was a former president and co-chair of Friends of the Superior Court.
She was a member of St Alban's Episcopal Church in Washington, the National Cathedral Association, the Army and Navy Club and the Army-Navy Country Club. In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Joan (STARING) NEWLIN of Centerport, NY; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
