The WAKEFIELD line traces back to Jonathan WAKEFIELD in 1705 Wells, Maine. WJCW was the son of Luther & Lorinda (PLACE) WAKEFIELD, married 27 Jul 1858 . Lorinda traces back to Enoch PLACE in 1631 England.

In WW2, Newton WAKEFIELD was a civil engineer, Navy and airline pilot, and landed the first plane at NAS Whidbey Island, on 5 Aug 1942. He later became Operations Officer there.
Newton married 11 May 1942 at St Thomas, Cd'A to Mary Dorothy BRESNAN (10 Jun 1906- 6 Jun 1973; daughter of Hugh and Susan (CLARK) BRESNAN). After 1973, he married [2] widow Vera I (CRISSEY) [McDONALD]. Newton died in March 1980. Vera then married Justin '28 BRODERICK in 1981. She died in 1997.
