from a 1988 article on sleepy Seaside OR, in the Oregonian:

On even the warmest of January mornings, Seaside doesn't crawl out of bed until 10 am. . . . Lovers of the fish and chips at Norma's have been scratching at the closed doors since Oct. 12, knowing the proprietor, Norma Benbennick, won't be back until mid-March. Norma is in Hawaii, reports Dale Richards at Columbia Books, right next door. "Norma," Richards notes, "does quite well in the summer."
